Chapter ten, part three. MedPIC and BMANTER Frameworks that qualify, forecast, and close. Let's dive into two of the most valuable qualification methodologies used in modern enterprise sales, MedPIC and BMANT. Both help you, the SEAC plus TS professional, bring structure and discipline to deal qualification, so you're not just hoping for a close, but forecasting it with confidence. MedPIC, a methodology for complex sales. MedPIC is built for long cycle enterprise sales with multiple stakeholders. It's a framework designed to assess the overall health of a deal. Each letter represents a key component you must validate before committing time and resources. Start with metrics. Ask what is the measurable business outcome the customer wants? How do they define success? Next, the economic buyer. This is the person who controls the budget and makes the final call. Are they in the conversation yet? If not, your deal is exposed. Decision criteria are the must-haves the customer will use to evaluate you. What are they comparing? What's a deal breaker? Now look at the decision process. What's the approval flow? Are there multiple stakeholders or gates to clear? Understand it up front, or you'll hit walls later. Then comes identify pain. What problem are you solving and what is the impact of not solving it? You also need a champion, someone internally who wants you to win and will fight for you. If you don't have one, you don't have a deal. Understand the competition. Who else are they evaluating? What's their advantage? What's yours? And finally, consider the paper process. Will procurement be quick or drag for weeks? Is this a digital approval flow or a manual one? How MedPIC shows up in your role. As a SEAC plus TS professional, MedPIC is not just a checklist, it's a map for how you qualify, contribute, and close. In Discovery, you're helping surface metrics, uncover pain, and gather technical requirements. During qualification, you validate that a technical win is achievable, the timeline is realistic, and the decision maker is known. As you move through deal management, MedPIC helps you track deal movement and keeps you synced with sales, product, and delivery. MedPIC in the sales funnel. In the no commit stage, your focus is on early qualification. Ask things like, what are the technical success criteria? Or what problems are we solving? When you hit the pipeline stage, engage directly with metrics and pain. How are they measuring success? What's broken today? At the upside stage, confirm you have a champion and understand the buyer's criteria. Questions like who is the economic buyer and what does their selection process look like are critical. In the forecast stage, you're validating the decision and paper processes. Ask, what's the next step in your approval process? Or what's needed from procurement? And at the commit stage, it's about de-risking the technical win. Ask, are there any unresolved issues? Or is the solution deployment ready? Checklist. Questions you should be asking. Metrics, what KPIs are they targeting? How will they measure success? Economic buyer, who controls the budget? Are they actively involved? Decision criteria. What requirements must we meet to win? Decision process. What is the internal approval path and timeline? Identify pain. What happens if this problem isn't solved? Champion. Who benefits most from this solution internally? Will they advocate for us? Competition. Who else is in the deal and how do we differentiate? Paper process. What steps are needed to finalize the contract? Field scenarios, medpick in action. In a discovery call, what metrics are most important for this project? We're targeting a 10% cost reduction and better process speed. Got it. We'll focus our demo around those outcomes. During qualification, who owns the budget? Who else weighs in? Our CIO signs off, but finance is in the loop. Perfect, we'll address both in our proposal. During closing, what's left to finalize this? We just need confirmation it integrates with our stack. I'll get our engineering team to deliver a full validation plan. BMANTER, the field tested framework for fast qualification. If MedPIC is your enterprise grade tool, BMANTER is your quick draw holster. It stands for budget, method, authority, need, timing, risk, and economic impact. Start with budget. Is the money allocated? CAPEX or OPEX? If it's unclear, escalate fast. Method is their buying process. Will this go to RFP? Is there a committee? Authority identifies who signs and who blocks. No both. Need surfaces the pain. What's broken and why does it matter? Timing tells you whether there's urgency or if you'll be ghosted. Risk flags potential landmines, technical gaps, politics, or compliance issues. Economic impact defines the business case. Can you link your value to financial outcomes? Field example Oracle Financial Services. I once qualified a big deal at a financial institution. The customer seemed excited but vague about budget. We probed deeper and found the real driver, a looming regulatory deadline. If they didn't act, they'd fail to meet reporting obligations. Timing, not budget, was the real trigger. BMANTER surfaced that fast, and we tailored the solution to meet the compliance window and won the deal. CRM strategy, embedding BMANTER. Set up your CRM to track BMANTor fields. Add a stage labeled BMANTor Qualify. Require inputs for budget status, timing, risk category, and identified need. Now leaders can gauge deal health based on real data, not hope. Comparing the two, BMANTE vs. MedPIC. Both are powerful, but they serve different purposes. BMANTER emphasizes speed, great for early qualification. It's focused on budget, authority, need, timing, risk, and method. MedPIC is for depth, it's stronger in enterprise deals where you need to validate pain, metrics, economic influence, decision process, and competition. They overlap in purpose, but differ in scope. Use BMANTER to qualify. Use MedPIC to navigate and close. Key takeaways for SEAC plus TS professionals. Start qualification early. Don't wait for sales. Identify timing and risk first. These derail more deals than price. Keep CRM fields accurate. Your forecast and your reputation depend on it. Remember, qualification isn't a form, it's a conversation. Banter and MedPick are just frameworks. You bring them to life by asking smart questions, probing deeper, and guiding the deal forward. This is how you move from technical contributor to strategic closer.
